  • Environmental stewardship
  • Youth education
  • Economic vitality
  • Helping persons in need

Rawhide Tours

Located 26 miles north of Fort Collins, Colorado, the Rawhide Energy Station is the flagship of Platte River Power Authority's generation resources. Tours of the plant are provided by reservation only and guided by experienced staff. Participants gain a basic understanding of the coal-fired electricity generation process at Rawhide including its state-of-the-art environmental systems.

Rawhide tours may be scheduled Monday through Thursday with start times between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday tours are preferable and easier to schedule.

Tour groups must have a minimum of five people. The maximum number of people per tour is 50.
Tour participants must be at least 10-years-old or in the 5th grade. Exceptions may be made if a younger child is accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Tours start on time and take approximately 1-1/2 hours. If you arrive late, your tour time may be shortened.
