Environmental Stewardship

Platte River participates in events promoting activities that benefit the environment and preserve natural resources.

  • Trees provide shade, improve the quality of our air and provide homes for wildlife. Each year on Arbor Day, Platte River provides funds to its owner communities for trees planted in parks, schools and other public places.
  • Platte River encourages use of alternative forms of transportation. On Bike to Work Day each June, the utility sponsors a breakfast station at its Headquarters in Fort Collins.
  • Employees collect trash and debris as part of Adopt-a-Trail activities along The Power Trail, a segment of Fort Collins' network of multi-modal recreation trails.
