Yampa

The Yampa Project consists of two, 428 MW units located near Craig in northwestern Colorado and associated transmission lines. The plant is jointly owned by Platte River, Tri-State Generation & Transmission, Inc., Xcel Energy, the Salt River Project and PacifiCorp. Tri-State is the project operating agent. The plant is adjacent to the Trapper Mine which is the primary coal supplier for the plant and is jointly-owned by the participants. Platte River owns 18 percent of Craig Units 1 and 2.
