Platte River's Records Management Department is responsible for
the official records of Platte River Power Authority. The records management
department receives and responds to record requests and is responsible
for the legal retention of Platte River records and preservation of archival
          documents.
Public records are available for inspection by appointment between the
            hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Mountain Time, Monday-Friday. Written
requests will be met within three working days, or less, upon receipt
of a written Public Records Request and retrieval fees, where appropriate.
Extenuating circumstances might result in a seven working-day extension.
Many Platte River records are public records. Colorado Statutes define
what specific records are not public and you will be informed if the
information requested is not available for that reason.
                Even though
many Platte River records are public records, they are not all kept
              indefinitely. The records management department
                    is responsible
for implementing the Platte River Power Authority Records Retention
Schedule. All Platte River records are evaluated for retention
                    based on the length
of time they will have significant value to the organization. Each
type of records is assigned a retention period. For example:
                    board minutes
and resolutions are retained permanently, while invoices are destroyed
after five years. Platte River's retention schedule has been reviewed
              and approved by the
          Colorado State Archivist.
The Public Records Request Form is available in Adobe pdf format. After
filling out the form--fax, mail or bring it, along with any appropriate
fees, to Platte River Power Authority's Headquarters. Please be
as specific as possible when making your request.
Asking for "everything you've got" about a particular
subject can be costly to the requestor. Platte River charges for records
searches. See the Fee Schedule for current charges. If the estimated
fees and charges for search, retrieval and photocopying are $50
or more, the fees and charges must be paid in advance by the requestor.
It is advised that you make a copy of your request form for your records.
